Mike HalvorsonSenior Managing Director
Mike Halvorson joined Far Hills Group in 1998 to manage and expand the firm’s international investor base. Mike became a partner in the firm in 2003. The firm now has extensive relationships with institutional investors in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and South America. Prior to joining Far Hills Group, Mike served with Chase Manhattan Private Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) in New York, leading a team of 25 private banking professionals focusing on Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The team supported high net worth families with an aggregate of over $2.5 billion in assets at Chase, providing expertise in hedge fund, private equity and structured investments as well as offshore trust and private investment companies. Mike’s 12 year tenure included multiple assignments in Hong Kong and New York, as well as an 18–month posting in Karachi, Pakistan. Prior to joining Chase Manhattan Bank, Mike served as President of H. Halvorson, Inc., a commercial construction firm with offices in Seattle and Anchorage and operations through the U.S. The firm’s focus was primarily large institutional projects such as public schools, hospitals, private medical clinics, retail shopping centers and various U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects.
Mike holds a Master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird Graduate School, specializing in International Finance. He earned a BA in Business Administration and a BS in Engineering from Washington State University. Mike currently serves as President of the 92-94 Warren Street Condominium Board in New York City and is Vice President of the Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charleston, RI.
