Christopher McGowan joined Far Hills Group in 2013 to expand the footprint of the firm in East Asia and Latin America. Prior to joining Far Hills Group, Chris served as Director of Institutional Sales and Marketing at Newedge, the third largest futures commission merchant in the world with over $17 billion in combined segregated funds. He was the chief agent of the agricultural division charged with penetrating markets on six continents and increasing client profitability while utilizing his rich background in commodity trading and sales. His work included interactions with hedge funds, state owned enterprises, global trading houses and industry participants while setting up end to end trading access, multi-million dollar margin financing agreements and producing market research. Before joining Newedge, Chris built a business as a Trader at Idaho Pacific Lumber where he provided lumber and building material for over 2,000 units of housing throughout the USA. Prior to joining Idaho Pacific Lumber, Chris was Vice President of Institutional Futures Sales at Citigroup Global Markets where he traded a daily average of over $50 million worth of products in open-outcry commodity futures and options markets on behalf of a worldwide book of institutional investors. Chris began his career as a Client Relationship Associate at the Vanguard Group.

Chris speaks Spanish and Portuguese and holds Series 3 and Series 7 licenses. Chris received his BA in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame.
